Step into the past with the Tombigbee Pioneers

How would you like to spend a day in early 1800’s Mississippi? You can do just that by visiting with the Tombigbee Pioneers, a group of vounteers who reenact living in the past. You will find craftsmen such as basketweavers, quilt makers, soap makers, weavers, and leather workers who are looking for an apprentice to learn their craft. Interested in hunting? Come visit with our long hunters. These guys were the earliest Europeans to come into this area. They will share with you tips about tanning leather, cooking over an open fire, firing flintlock rifles, throwing “hawks” and also share with you some of the tools of their trade. So come join us, dress like a pioneer and relive the past with us.
